FCT Police, NSCDC Assure Residents of Yuletide Security

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commands of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents during the festive season. This assurance came during a courtesy visit by FCT Commissioner of Police (CP) Olatunji Disu to the NSCDC FCT Command headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

Strengthening Synergy

Welcoming the CP, NSCDC Commandant Dr. Olusola Odumosu emphasised the importance of collaboration between both organisations.

“Collaboration is crucial to achieving shared goals in maintaining peace and security. No single organisation holds a monopoly of strategy in security management,” he said.

Dr. Odumosu noted that the visit reinforced the existing synergy, fostering service delivery and ensuring the protection of residents and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the territory.

He warned criminal elements planning to disrupt the festive period to desist, highlighting robust measures in place to ensure a peaceful Christmas celebration. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies promptly.

Commitment to Joint Efforts

CP Disu echoed the Commandant’s sentiments, underscoring the significance of intelligence-sharing and joint operations in combating crime. He suggested enhanced collaboration through joint training programs and sporting activities to strengthen ties between the operatives of both agencies.

“Our collaboration will deepen, ensuring we effectively address security challenges in the FCT,” Disu remarked.

A Symbol of Unity

The visit, which marked a significant step in fostering unity between the two organisations, concluded with an exchange of gifts between the security chiefs. This act symbolised mutual respect and a shared commitment to safeguarding the FCT.

As the Yuletide approaches, the NSCDC and Police have assured residents that all efforts are being made to ensure a safe and secure environment, further bolstering confidence in their collective resolve to maintain peace and order. Stanbic IBTC Closes NECIT Nigeria Over Alleged Debt Dispute
