Police, JTF Launch Rescue Operation for Kidnapped Trio
The Anambra Police Command, in collaboration with the Joint Task Force (JTF), has initiated a coordinated rescue operation for three individuals who were abducted on Tuesday at the Innoson motorcycle showroom in Nnewi, Anambra State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the abduction took place in the evening at the showroom located on Owerri Road, Nnewi. The victims were reportedly seized by armed assailants, prompting immediate action from the police and the JTF.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Onitsha, SP Ikenga confirmed that the police had visited the scene and gathered critical information to aid in the ongoing investigation. “The command has launched a full-scale operation to secure the release of the victims and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Ikenga said.
The police spokesman also urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. “We urge anyone with relevant information to report it to the nearest police station or our headquarters in Awka,” he said. Additionally, he provided the emergency toll-free numbers 112 and 07039194332 for those wishing to share tips anonymously.
The ongoing operation reflects the commitment of the Anambra Police Command and the JTF to combat rising cases of abductions and ensure the safety of citizens across the state.
