19 Directors Fail Written Examination for PS Role
Nineteen directors have failed the written examination for the position of Permanent Secretary, conducted on Monday in Abuja.
The examination was part of a rigorous three-stage selection process aimed at filling vacancies for retiring permanent secretaries from various states, including Abia, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Rivers. Out of 38 eligible candidates, the 19 who did not pass the written exam will now proceed to the second stage of the process.
Mrs. Eno Olotu, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday. She noted that the remaining candidates will undergo a test on their competence in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation adheres to a well-established tradition of conducting a thorough and rigorous selection process to ensure only the best candidates are appointed to permanent secretary roles. These candidates are expected to possess the necessary skills to improve and sustain effective service delivery within the Civil Service.
The final stage of the selection process will take place on Friday, November 15, where successful candidates will face a panel of senior bureaucrats and representatives from the organised private sector.
