Bullion Go-Neat CEO Urges Government to Boost Youth Empowerment
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, CEO of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited, has reiterated the need for robust government initiatives to empower Nigeria’s youth. Speaking at an interactive session with the Commerce & Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) in his office, Ajadi highlighted the untapped potential of Nigerian youth, stressing that strategic support could drive national productivity, enhance governance participation, and reduce crime.
“The energy of Nigerian youths, like that of their counterparts globally, is an asset waiting to be fully harnessed,” he stated. Ajadi urged the government to urgently address the economic strain Nigerians face, noting that while costs have surged in recent months, salaries remain stagnant, creating challenges in a nation with a predominantly young population.
Ajadi, who also serves as a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, outlined key areas of action for the government: “Create more employment opportunities, engage graduates meaningfully, incentivise employers, and bring down the cost of essential goods so the common man can adequately feed his family.”
The CEO also emphasised agriculture’s potential for youth engagement, suggesting that the government establish farm settlements and agricultural production centres nationwide. “This would motivate youth to embrace agricultural initiatives if supported with monitored start-up funds,” he said, adding that agricultural investment could catalyse industrial growth.
Ajadi further advocated for practical reforms in technical colleges and polytechnics, proposing that they be equipped to fabricate machinery for local industries. “With proper resources, these institutions could serve as launch points for youth-driven industrial ventures,” he explained.
Calling for targeted budgetary provisions, Ajadi stressed the value of empowering youths across senatorial zones for productive agriculture, which he believes could strengthen Nigeria’s economic foundation: “We have the resources and youth population to drive agricultural output, leading to sustainable economic progress.”
