Zenith Bank Staff and Two Others Fatally Shot in Abia State
Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, confirmed on Thursday that Mr. Victor Udensi, a Zenith Bank staff member, and two others were tragically killed on Monday in Umuahia.
Addressing journalists at the Abia police headquarters, CP Isa assured the public that “the perpetrators will soon be brought to justice.” He detailed that Udensi had stopped along the Isi Court Axis of Olokoro, Umuahia South, around 8 p.m. when three armed men in a tricycle accosted him.
According to Isa, the suspects attempted to force Udensi into the boot of his vehicle. “Udensi resisted and, in his attempt to escape, was shot in the back, leaving him severely injured,” he said. The attackers then tried but failed to drive away in Udensi’s car. Wema Bank Launches Academy to Boost Nigerian SME Exports
Continuing their violent spree, the assailants accosted another motorist in a Camry nearby. “When he resisted, they shot him, killing him instantly,” CP Isa reported. Fleeing towards Ubakala, they encountered a tricycle in their path, which they deemed obstructive, fatally shooting its driver as well.
Witnesses reported that passersby rushed Udensi to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. CP Isa disclosed that police had initiated a manhunt for the assailants, vowing that justice would be served. TikTok Founder Now China’s Richest Man
