NIPR Appoints Rasheed Bolarinwa as Head of FinanceHub Committee
The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced the appointment of Rasheed Bolarinwa, President of the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB), as Chairman of the newly created FinanceHub Management Committee.
According to the NIPR, the FinanceHub will focus on enhancing sustainable public relations practices in the finance sector, covering banking, insurance, and pensions. Bolarinwa, who also serves as Head of Brand Management and Corporate Communication at Polaris Bank, is expected to leverage his extensive experience in journalism, PR, and the financial sector to elevate PR practices within these industries.
Bolarinwa has been an influential figure in corporate communication, having been re-elected as President of ACAMB in January 2024 after serving two terms as the association’s Secretary-General. His new role within the FinanceHub will see him working alongside other industry leaders to promote transparency and sustainability in public relations practices across the financial sector.
Other notable appointments include Mrs. Thelma Okoh as Chair of the Maritime Hub, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha for the Energy Hub, and Mr. Basil Agboarumi for the Aviation Hub. Additionally, Dr. Ahmad Sajoh will lead the Anti-Corruption and Consumer Protection Hub, while Miss Chimdi Neliaku will head the Young Practitioners Hub.
The nomination letters, signed by Uzoma Onyegbadue, the Institute’s Registrar/Secretary to the NIPR Governing Council, underscored the importance of these sectoral hubs in fostering a viable and sustainable public relations landscape in Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Chairmen and Committee Members of the Sectoral Hubs, NIPR National President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, expressed confidence in the nominees’ abilities.
“Your appointments are considered well thought out. It reflects the trust and confidence the NIPR council places in your expertise, commitment, and dedication towards contributing to achieving the objectives of the Hub,” Neliaku stated.
Dr. Neliaku, along with other governing council members, pledged their support to the newly appointed leaders, adding, “We look forward, with excitement, to working together with you all to make a positive impact on sustainable and viable public relations practices in the respective sectoral hubs in Nigeria.”
