Kano State Governor Supervises Fabrication of 50,000 Desks to Improve School Infrastructure

In a significant move to enhance the learning environment and address the out-of-school children gap in Kano State, the Governor recently conducted a supervisory visit to the site where 50,000 classroom desks and other school furniture are being fabricated. This initiative marks the first phase of a broader effort to uplift the standard of schools across the state.
“Our target is to ensure that students resume school in a conducive environment,” the Governor stated during his visit. He emphasized that the initiative is a critical part of the government’s commitment to ensuring that schools meet basic standards of habitability, thereby providing a better learning experience for students.
The project is not only focused on improving school infrastructure but also on providing employment opportunities for the youth. “This also affords us the opportunity to engage thousands of our youthful population in the productive and fulfilling enterprise of producing these essential pieces of furniture,” the Governor remarked.
He took the opportunity to commend the workers on site for their dedication and the impressive pace at which they are working, especially given the tight timeframe for delivery. “I commend the workers on site for the impressive pace of work, especially considering the timeframe of delivery,” he said.
Looking ahead, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continuing efforts towards ensuring that every child in Kano has access to quality and affordable education. “We shall continue to strive towards ensuring quality and affordable education for all in Kano,” he concluded.
