Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Approves Reconstruction of Magboro-Makogi Road
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has given the green light for the reconstruction of the 8.17-kilometer Magboro-Makogi Road in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. This much-needed infrastructure project will also include work on the Magboro underbridge, promising to bring significant development to the area.
Governor Abiodun made the announcement on Monday during the flag-off ceremony for the 2024 Rice Harvesting Season in Igboko village. The governor, who personally inspected the road, emphasized the importance of the project for the local community and the broader region.
“I am glad that today, I had the opportunity to drive on this road myself. I have seen the condition of the road; but beyond the condition, I have seen how densely populated this area is. I also appreciate the impact this road will have on our farmland,” Abiodun stated.
Highlighting his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, the governor added, “So today, I know that I am a promise-keeping governor. I only talk and do; I don’t talk without doing. I am going to immediately award the contract for the reconstruction of this road.”
The reconstruction of the Magboro-Makogi Road is expected to unlock further development in the area, making it more accessible and boosting local economic activities. The governor also revealed plans to provide about 2,000 hectares for rice cultivation in the region, further demonstrating his administration’s commitment to agricultural development and food security in Ogun State.
