Gunmen Invade Hotel, Owner Shot Dead, Friend Abducted

A hotel owner, Kayode Akinyemi, got killed by gun men who broke into the building in Ganmo, Kwara State’s Alomilaya neighbour hood and his friend, Ori, was kidnapped.

In the course of the incident, the manager of the hotel, Emmanuel Olushola Ojo, suffered critical injuries and is being treated at the General Hospital, Ilorin.

The incident was said to have caused panic in the neighbour hood.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kwara State Command, Ajayi Okasanmi (SP), confirmed the incident, saying the command’s tactical team in conjunction with vigilante and hunters have been mobilised to comb the surrounding bushes for possible rescue of the victim and arrest of the fleeing suspect.

He claimed that the victim’s body had been deposited in the mortuary of the general hospital for autopsy.
