TG Media International Celebrates The International Day Of The Girl 2021
“You are truly blessed if you have been gifted a girl child because she has the aura to make your heart and home a happy place.” “Blessed are those parents who are gifted with a girl child who is a bundle of joy and a ray of hope.”
The International Day of the Girl is observed on October 11, 2021. This is a global observance declared by the United Nations to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
The Giant Media International (TGMI), on International Day of the Girl, celebrate girls’ right to education and highlighting the need to eliminate all forms of discrimination against girls.
It is a day that focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights,” Songolo says. The theme this year is “Digital Generation … Our Generation.” “We chose that theme because the gender gap is in so many areas.
“The growth and development of the world’s economies, institutions, and nations rest on all girls having equal rights and opportunities. Ensuring that girls can reach their full potential is not just a moral imperative, it is a strategic one as well. The status of women and the peace and prosperity of nations are inextricably linked. When girls do well, we all do well. When we invest in the education of girls, our communities are healthier and our economies are stronger. When we empower girls to lead, our peace processes, global health and humanitarian efforts, and climate negotiations are more sustainable and resilient. When we invest in women- and girl-led movements, our democracies grow more stable and more prosperous. On this International Day of the Girl, we commit ourselves to ensuring opportunity and equality for all girls.”
Joseph R. Biden Jr. US President
“Girls are leaders. Girls are change-makers. Girls are driving good and growth around the world. They are a fundamental source of transformational change for gender equality, and technology is a crucial tool to support their work, activism and leadership.”
UN WOMEN
Girls face multiple challenges purely because of their age and gender. In many of the world’s poorest places, the odds are stacked against them when factors like ethnicity and disability heighten the existing disadvantages that they face. From being denied an education to being forced into child marriage, girls face a myriad of obstacles that prevent them from realising their full potential.
Girls who stay in school are more likely to support themselves, look after their health, avoid early marriage and pregnancy and contribute to society.
Let us support the girl child and give them a VOICE…
