Uzbekistan cuts gas sales abroad
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered the redistribution of gas in the republic, Sputnik Tajikistan reported on December 17.
Gas supply in Uzbekistan, according to statistics, is experiencing a shortage of 20 million cubic metres of gas per day. In this regard, Mirziyoyev ordered during a video conference to reduce gas supplies to abroad in favour of domestic consumption.
Due to this, an additional 7-8 million cubic metres of natural gas per day will be sent to the regions.
By the way, Tajikistan is one of the key importers of Uzbek gas. Whether the supply of fuel to the republic will be reduced is not specified. At the same time, a part of Tajik enterprises operate on Uzbek gas, the products of which, in turn, are bought by Uzbekistan.
