NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – A trilateral memorandum on the implementation of a project to build a plant for the production of masks was signed between Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, Nur-Sultan’s Mayor and Turkish company MFA Mask in the capital of Kazakhstan, the interdepartmental commission on the non-proliferation of COVID-19 said on November 3.
The enterprise will be located in Nur-Sultan on the territory of the special economic zone “Astana – a new city”. The project with a total cost of about $ 9.3 million is planned to be implemented with the support of the national company Kazakh Invest.
The project will be implemented in two stages – until 2024. In October 2021, it is planned to complete the implementation of the first stage.
At the first stage, it is planned to produce up to 3.5 million medical devices annually. Following the implementation of the second stage, it is planned to increase the volume to 10 million units.
The enterprise will produce respirators of the FFP2 and FFP3 class, the production of gas masks and filters, as well as self-oxidizing masks for evacuation will be organised. The enterprise will install modern Turkish and German equipment. The manufactured products will be supplied to the Kazakhstan market and exported to Russia and the countries of Central Asia.
